Alarming Crash

We are trying to stay strong and let Jack cry it out a little at night. Because of this and he ability to roll he screams, cries, and flings around trying to get us to give in and come get him. Last night he started crying after falling asleep so I went in to check on him. He was towards the end of the bed on his belly and I put Wub Nub in hoping it would keep him content...but also thinking...Wub Nub's stuffed animal is close to his nose and he is on his belly...but that is what our Angel Care Monitor is for right?!? The monitor sounds an alarm if Jack hasn't taken a breath/moved in 15 seconds. All the sudden a little while later the alarm sounded (which it hasn't done since he was 2 weeks old and we were getting the sensitivity levels set). Nick and I both jumped out of bed and I bolted down the hall. When it came time to make the turn to go to the nursery something happened (it is all a blur) and I slid down the hall, ramming my shoulder into the ground with all my weight, and crashing (I mean CRASHING) into the laundry room door. It was bad enough that Nick said he was positive with the way my neck snapped that I was paralyzed. Rolling over in PAIN as he tried to check on me I told him to get to Jack and that I would be OK. For sure just like a scene out of a movie.
Jack was alright...not sure if it was Wub Nub, him moving too far from the motion pad, or just a fluke. Then for the rest of the night Nick had to tend to me. We weren't sure if my shoulder was out of socket, if I had a really bad concussion (I was pretty nauseous), or what exactly the damage was. Due to insurance starting over on September 1st (OF COURSE!) and my lack of employment, we decided to wait and go to the doctor today if it was still bad. Nick had to stay home from work because I can't lift Jack, get on the floor (because I can't get up), and we didn't go to sleep til 4:30 in the morning.
Dr. Wright sent me to Richardson Regional Medical Center to have an x-ray...that will be a nice outpatient hospital visit to start us off with here in the 1st week of the new insurance. She was worried that I might have torn a roto cuff or something like that. The results came back normal and so if in a week it still hurts she wants me to have an MRI. Until then it is lay low (except for Gymboree somehow tomorrow), ice packs, and pain pills.
The worst carpet burn I have ever had!
The hospital bracelet that probably cost $40

This priceless little boy that I am so thankful that despite the pain I am in...was alright!

Jack Blows...

Bubbles...

Yesterday Jack learned how to blow bubbles with his mouth. Today he continued to do it...even while eating. The result follows....
What a tasty mess! Dinner ended shortly there after because the clean up wasn't nearly as fun as making the mess.

Smorgasbord

I feel like sometimes my creativity is stifled by the blog since I try not to overdo posts with too many words and pictures. The result is ya'll missing out on great shots of Jack. Here is a collection of a few of my favorites from the past 2 weeks. There are many more on the camera...anyone willing to start a collection for his retina replacement surgery?!?!

Look into my eyes...you will do as I say
(click on the picture to make it bigger so you can get a better view of those big blue eyes).
How are we ever going to say no that that face?

Who needs Mom and Dad...give me my bottle and I am good.

Dad and I in trying out our new HipHammock. I like this better than the Bijorn infant carrier.

Step back and look at this picture. Does it look like a picture of a child that has been crying in his crib for over 30 minutes refusing to take his nap? Didn't think so...a little devilish looking don't you think?!?! He knew despite the tears and hyperventaliting he just endoured...he won!
No more bathtub hammock for this little man. Look how big he is!
BTW- His hand is holding on to his teetee with great force...we're scared he is going to rip it off, but no matter how many rubber duckies...he goes for the penis instead.

Tonight I was trying to get a picture of Nick and Jack while taking his bath. Jack was looking at the camera and Nick was about to rinse his body when I said look up at the camera Nick. Which he did but reflex made him squeeze the bottle which shot up in poor unsuspecting Jack's face. Nick didn't even realize what had happened til Jack was choking on the water that he just ingested. All turned out OK as seen in shot number two below.

Jack forgave Dad and the picture turned out great.

OK- That is all I got for ya today!

Gymboree and Party Bust

Thanks to Papa C and Bebe Jack was able to try out Gymboree today for free and sign up for the Fall Session. We will be going every Wednesday at 1:15 starting next weekend through the end of December. There were too many cute shots from today that I included them all. We sang songs, played with balls and beanless bean bags, baby soccer, bubbles, slides, and the parachute. I think Nick might have actually had more fun and is looking forward to going to a few of the Saturday sessions and Open Gym time with Jack too!

WE LOVE SLIDES!

PLAYING PEEK A BOO WITH DAD!

Jack passed out in the car on the way home from Gymboree. After resting up, refueling, and packing our bags (towel, swimsuits, sunblock, and dressed Jack in his suit) we headed out for Monticee's (Nick's PE teaching partner) Housewarming/Swimming Party. It "started" at 3:30 so we were rushing to pull into Bed, Bath, and Beyond to get her a gift and make it there without being tacky fashionably late. We drive out to Garland and pull up to her house around 4:45 and Nick says, "Oops, we might be too fashionably late." There were only 2 cars in the driveway and the folding chairs (which I assumed were for the party) were stacked in the garage. Jack and I thought...What kind of party ends an hour after it starts? Well, we knock on the door to have Monticee answer with us instantly apologizing for being so late...and well, we were early....BY A FULL DAY. She gave us the grand tour anyway, we loaded up in the car again to head home, but decided since we were all dressed up to check out the open air mall that was out that way (Firewheel) that we had never been to. It was nice to walk around but was very HOT.
Sorry Monticee-Your house is nice. Can't wait to come swimming in the huge backyard!!!
