Even though there was a refreshing big pool on the other side of the gate the kiddos enjoyed playing in the kiddie area the most.

Ashley had her hands full at the hot tub. Don't worry-it wasn't hot. What a hostess tending to all the little Jungle Guests.
After swimming and eating the kids got to hit the lion pinata. This was Jack's first pinata....I sure hope we don't get a call this week from school saying that he's picked up a stick and started hitting friends to see if they are stuffed with candy.
Wow! Hitting was fun....but the fruit snacks were even better! Another first for Jack.

Jack's last Toddler report from Watters Montessori.
Ms. Fabi, Mrs. Christina, and his other teachers put together a gift bag for him. The bag was decorated with his name, a framed pictures, sweet notes from them. Inside there was a shirt the class made for Jack and a stuffed teddy bear.
Too cute. This past week he has spent the morning in his new room, The Transition Room, and Monday will be his first full day with Ms. Dora and Ms. Jennifer to whom I haven't met. But I feel better knowing that Ms. Rebecca (his favorite) will be in there with him in the afternoons. We love Ms. Fabi, Ms. Christina, and all the other Toddler Teachers that took great care of our baby this past year. He is growing up so fast!
After school Nick and Jack headed to his last swim lesson with Ms. Sara at Elmer's Swim School for this Waterbabies class. He got a ribbon and a t-shirt at the end of class. We are probably going to wait til the Spring to sign him up for another session....with back to school we are stretched a bit too far and we can't afford it year round so waiting will make it more meaningful closer to summer. Oh I wish it were summer again!
On Monday Nick took Mac to pick up his new Jag and GG played with Jack so that I could finish editing the curriculum lesson plans for the other girls on the first grade team. They had so much fun...between fishing, watching Care Bears, playing baseball (briefly-Jack was just getting over his fever and it was HOT), and tons of play time in the playroom. Thanks GG! Dinner that night was a little Italian at Brio and then I took GG to Charming Charlie's....which I am pretty sure after she bought that super cute outfit for any events that might come up in the Spring of 2010 that it will be one of her regulars when in town.
Tuesday Nick took Jack to get his car seat inspected (you know me...better safe than sorry & it's free) then practiced some of his swimming skills in GG and Mac's hotel pool. Nick said the water was pretty cool so the swim was just long enough then a pizza lunch. After naps it was dinner at Pei Wei and back home to say good-byes for now. I missed out on the days activities trying to get work done at school so that this coming week I am not pulling long days before officially reporting on Thursday and I had a PTA meeting for Jack's school to plan the Back to School Picnic that we won't be attending because we'll be "camping". But that is another story.

I mean....a jungle gym in a pool next to a huge water slide...could this be anymore Jack?!?
Ms. Sara is Jack's teacher and we LOVE her. She has so much experience, isn't afraid to be serious about swimming, but at the same time does a great job of bringing him back to lovin her when he gets a bit startled.

"How come they have fries? Where is Mike the Tiger? Did you pack my fruit?"
"Now he is entertaining. I wonder if he'll play ball with me?!?"
"A ride on a train, cool animals, lunch outside, and a ride on the merry-go-round....and everyone said we were crazy because it was raining...they missed out."

Before driving back to Dallas on the way out of town we gave Mike the Tiger one more try to please our little LSU fan. They had to get that close and concentrate that hard to see...

We also made a stop in Melville to have lunch with Mimee. Jack brought her some flowers that she just loved. 
Lunch was tasty! Everyone's favorite was the cupcakes....especially Jack who made a MESS!
Jack was playing in the living room and looked down to see a stain on the carpet. He instantly shouted, "Oh No...a mess. Then ran to the back room, grabbed a carpet square, threw it on the stain and said, "I hide it!" I mean....proves how bad we needed carpet...the boy knows if it won't rub in...just cover it. 
I mean does the boy love his Mickey Mouse or what?!?! Nothing like his two stuffed Mickeys having their own pillow and a Little Giraffe blanket. We looked over from the kitchen and this is what we saw-how can you not start planning a trip to Disney?!?!
So we aren't pushing potty training but school has requested he come in Pull Ups and he gets stickers on his arm every time he goes pee pee in the potty. When we gets home we put them on a chart and add them too if he goes pee pee potty here. When it fills up he gets to pick out a prize. We gave him a one dollar bill and let him pick out anything he wanted from the Dollar Tree. He carried around a giant, plastic crayon bank til he saw some scissors (which caused us to add in anything he wanted within reason) and ended up with a red calculator. At the register he noticed it wouldn't turn on. I walked back and on the way he said, "Mom, I want a blue calculator." I asked him why he didn't want another red one and he replied with, "Because the red ones don't work." That boy. After I showed him that not all the red calculators didn't work he was one happy boy. Now he is working hard to fill up chart number two because he wants another red calculator.
Once his fever went "down" we decided to let him run outside for a few minutes (it was so hot and he was already hot enough). I read in a magazine that you should let them run "free" so they feel the sensation before they pee and then are able to see themselves go so it "makes a connection". Who knows if it works....but he had fun and I loved seeing my young innocent boy running free.
