I mean REALLY...

So I'm watching TV on the couch and listening to poor Jack screaming his head off. I pop my head in the bedroom where Nick is watching basketball and ask how long we should let him go...he says a few more minutes. A few minutes later I hear that Jack has stopped and assume that he has finally given up and fallen asleep...until I hear Nick and Jack giggling like school girls in our bedroom.

"Dad this is awesome...I get to eat as many as I want out this huge box as long as I am quiet during the game...I knew I loved you more for a reason."
"Ha Ha...we tricked Mom...she thinks I'm asleep....(under his breath) and I tricked you too because here I am snacking after my bedtime."
"Look...let's pretend Mom is here and is alright with this (which she totally wouldn't be)...sharing....how nice Jack. One for Dad..."
"And a mouthful for ME!"
"Oh shoot Dad...there is Mom. Close your mouth and maybe she won't see. Wuv Vu Mum. Note to self...crying for over 15 minutes equals out of crib, snacking with Dad, while watching TV...can't wait til tomorrow night!"

Thirsty Jack

Here is a quick video of Jack that I took during his fun with the water hose. Enjoy!

Sand and Water -but not in the table...

Jack and Nick went to Lowe's this morning (in matching clothes) to pick up play sand for the table and few other things I'm sure I'll never know about. We filled up the table with water, sand, and added a few gadgets I got for the table at Target this morning. Thinking that testing it all out was going to be a quick, fun activity before nap was WRONG.

Apparently yesterdays drinking from the flower pots (which we held out today to avoid drinking the table water) was not a one time thing...except today....it was drinking sand out of the boats. He would make a terrible face...yet would go back for more.
Then he ditched the table to see what Nick was up to and apparently we are starving and dehydrating him because the water went straight into his mouth. And even though he choked on it...
He kept going back for more.

After about 30 minutes we stripped him, hosed him down, but then still had to bath him to get all the sand off...Nick says we're in for it tomorrow for our planned water playdate with water/sand table, baby pool, and sprinkler...looking forward to the challenge.

2nd H2O Table (with Bonus-SAND!)

Jack's replacement water table came in today at Wal-Mart. Nick picked it up on the way home from Saturday School.
We really could have left the box in the living room and Jack would have had enough fun to get our money's worth.
He was waiting and watching so patiently while Nick put it together and filled it up. Although we didn't have any sand so we just filled up the water side today.
You know Jack and his obsession with plastic cups...we easily could have just let him play in the backyard with Mardi Gras cups because with this huge new water/sand table in front of him...all he wanted to do was drink from the flower pots that came with the table.
Again...not kidding...not interested in table, bridges, or boats...just drank from the flower pots....starting to wonder if it is going to be safe for him to drink when the water is full of sand and dirt from being outside.
The flower pots had holes in the bottom so his shirt was wet and off it came. Didn't play long because of his cough and the water was pretty cold even though the sun was out and the weather was perfect. Can't wait to play with it this week....I'm thinking a water playdate is a must!!!
