School's Out For Summer

Today was Nick's last day in RISD at Northlake. To celebrate we headed over to Megan's pool to do a little swimming.
Jack had fun til he took a little dip and from that point on he liked the poolside view with snacks and drinks instead. Nick and I have decided that swimming is more than a two man job when Jack is involved.
Here is Jack tonight digging his new pj's from The Nolans. He's never slept in shorts with a short sleeve shirt before so we will see how he does-with this Summer heat we are already having I think he will enjoy it. Thanks guys! Too cute!!!

MST Graduation

Ashley, Nathan, Jack, and I went to the Sixth Grade MST Graduation this morning. This group of students is very special to us because we taught them in First Grade then looped up with the same class to Second Grade. That is a lot of time together! Our goal was for the whole team to be there Angela, Ashley, Catherine, and I but Catherine just had a baby and couldn't make it. Seeing them all grown up was so surreal and encouraging because I taught them my first year teaching so them making it this far means I didn't do too much damage to them.
Getting up, getting dressed up, and keeping the boys quiet (which they did wonderful of course) was pretty exhausting, but seeing the kids and their families appreciation for us being there made it totally worth it.
To think these kids 5 years ago were sitting at their tiny chairs with seat backs, learning how to read, and didn't have a clue what was beyond the walls of First/Second Grade.
Towards the end there was music playing for a picture slide show and Jack loved the opportunity to show off his moves.
Move is what Nathan did-if he wasn't bouncing around, he was crawling around.
I wish I could find a picture from back then to show ya'll the changes but really when I look at them now-taller, grown up looking, and "mature" I still see my little babies.
Here is little Miss. Sarah-I can't imagine looking at Jack and seeing him all grown up like these kids are. I'm so proud!
On the way down the hall I ran into many, many of my recent past kiddos. It was great seeing them and showing them how big Jack has gotten. Here is one of my favorites from last year, Ahmad-kid could always make you smile!

The Last Supper

Tuesday Jack and I brought lunch to Nick at the Lake for the last time this year.
Not the best picture of Nick...but this was the first time that Jack actually ate with Nick at lunch...before I was always scared of the challenge...now we've got it down to a Science.
After lunch we stopped by the Instructional Specialist Suite to say hey to the ladies...so much to get into....Jack was in heaven until...
He got to open the door and go outside to let some teachers in that had gone to Chick-Fil-A...he is obsessed with being outdoors (a trait he did not get from me).
Before leaving he made his usual last stop to see Principal Howell. She was braver than me again and let him bang on the keys...someone got a random email that day I'm sure.

Jack Got Lei'd

Last Friday Jack and I met Nick at Lynne's House for the Northlake end of the year Luau.
Leigh, Lynne's daughter gave Jack his Hawaiian Lei.
Jack had so much fun showing off to everyone inside...
and outside. The bucket of ice kept him entertained for a long time.
Here was a quick family shot before Jack and I headed home..it was well past his bedtime and he had for sure used up all his energy running around.
We left Dad behind so he could hang with his partner in crime, Monticee. Not sure how they are going to handle not coaching together anymore. I'm sure they'll still stay in touch to talk sports though.
