Nick headed to Corpus Christi with his teaching partner Stasha on Thursday morning around 5 AM. Jack was doing alright without wub but heard him get up and wouldn't go back to sleep. We'd been up late so I was already dreading Nick being gone til Saturday evening since here it was morning one and I was going to be working on 4 hours of sleep...but Jack finally went back down around 6 and I got everything ready, loaded, and didn't wake him up til around 7:20 for breakfast and him getting dressed. From that point one we did great...he would sleep in while I got everything together, the drop offs went smooth, and we enjoyed the time together in the evenings. He even went down without any trouble at all. Most biggest trouble was 2 students having to be restrained and removed by administration from my room. Friday night the Tavares family came over to keep and play with Jack while I attended the McGowen Holiday Dinner alone (sniff, sniff)...THANKS PATRICK & LISA. Before we knew it Nick was back...he felt like Jack had grown in that little time he was gone, Jack was super excited to see him, but our relationship is better...can't exactly explain how...it just is.

The Purple Cow
Saturday night we were itching to get out the house so we called up the McWilliams (and Parnell's but they weren't home) to join us for dinner. Trying to figure out a kid friendly place that wouldn't be packed we decided to give The Purple Cow a shot.
The food was alright, the dessert was huge, but overall the kids were a bit antsy and I'm sure the other customers were happy to see us go although...what do you expect eating at a place called The Purple Cow with a train on the ceiling? And...I printed coupons for us and of course forgot til after he ran the credit cards so we passed them off to two other lucky tables before we headed out...pay it back- like the person ahead of us at the grocery who bought us reusable shopping bags last week.
