If the tardiness of a new post wasn't a clear indication of how life has been on cruise control for the Relle Clan...the following post will take you on a snapshot of our drive...
Friday- Interviews, Texting a parent for coffee due to running late, Pep Rallys, Nick moving Sullivans, Mom in charge of Jack pick up/hair cut/& dinner to Sullivan's, Nick calls it a night, Mom hangs back, then calls it a night (Relle bedtime is 9:30 on Fridays...way past this tonight).
Saturday- Resting up thank goodness because hang on..here we go...
Sunday:
10:15 Gymboree
Lunch afterwards with the McWilliams
Daycare birthday party invite presentS
Nap which Jack woke us up at 2:54 when Jonah's 1st Birthday Party started at 3:00
Running around like crazy and finally at the wonderful celebration (socially late of course)

Here is Jack and Baby Jack...
"Hey, I you're name is pretty cool & nice choice of color."
The birthday boy about to blow out his candle!

I mean this one requires no words...
Speaking of cake...when we got home I attempted to make Petite Fours til all hours for Jack's Teachers for Teacher Appreciation that failed and ended up in the trash.

Monday Wayne was out of town so the Parnell's headed over for a weeknight playdate. They arrived just as we got home for work. The boys played, Ashley and I caught up, while Nick lit the grill to make hot dogs for dinner. The boys enjoyed dinner (and so did we).

After a little more playing it was bath time. Nick took care of that so Ashley and I could visit somewhere and I could work on round two of the Teacher Appreciation Petite Fours for Jack's teachers.

On the way home Tuesday the Check Engine light came on (even though we picked up the Jetta not but a few days prior for a routine check up). Nick was able to get an appointment that night at 6:30 so I worked til 6:15 (since the week had been & was going to be booked solid), headed home, he passed me in the door, and arrived as Jack was going down courtesy of Volkswagon. Finishing off the $5,000 we were told would eventually have to go into the car this year....I thought VW was supposed to outlive you?!?

Here is where the muffin comes into the title. Jack's School was having Muffins with Mom on Wednesday morning. The turn out for most events has been pitiful and given the time I ASSumed that taking a half day, splitting my class, or begging for someone to cover would not be worth it...

Here is the outcome from my second attempt at the Petite Fours (again at way too late hours), Nick and Jack had to drop me off for an early morning interview, then Nick had to take him to school, the kids enjoyed the Petite Fours while pretending to have Muffins with Mom as tears filled my eyes at 9:30 thinking of my baby being Mom-Less at school. The day was hard for me, I was exhausted, but no time to grieve...changed for RENT during planning, headed out with Nick to pick up Jack (where I'll be brief- I was told he was 1 of 3 without a Mom, I was given my rose by him, all while being told that it was so cute/sad when the kids would hear the door opening to run to the glass door in their room to see whose Mom was coming for Muffins but not to worry the lady that answers the phone sat with him and they took lots of pictures-ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME-WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST LOOK ME IN THE FACE AND TELL ME HOW MUCH I SUCK AS A MOM), left in tears to pick up the Jetta, met Angela at MST, then headed downtown to Jeremy's.

The culprit...although greatly appreciated and fantastic tasting-Thanks Jeremy! Dinner of not much and way to much to drink...blaming stress, schedules, and Muffins for Moms led to...

Great times with Jeremy, Miley, & Angela...

And not remembering the 2nd half of RENT (even though I had seen it 5 times prior to the evening) with 2 original cast members because I passed out, loosing my phone (thanks for finding it Jeremy & Miley), Angela having to drive me home while I cried hysterically about being tired and muffins, and wanting to die on Thursday morning when I woke up still spinning but had to ride with Nick wrapped in a blanket with Chick-Fil-A to soak up my mistakes and planning the time that afternoon to pick up the Jetta from MST (hoping the candle gifts from Jeremy didn't melt on the backseat while sitting out in the 96 degree heat). In my 6 years I've never made this mistake, blame the meltdown, but will NEVER make it again on a school night again. Good thing my administration is FANTASTIC and my class is at that fine oiled machine stage.

Adison (a student) brought me these beautiful flowers and a cake that she told me to share with Jack to make up for not going to Muffins with Mom...how sweet...I started crying when she gave it too me, every time someone asked me if I was alright (my eyes were swollen from crying & well, I was hung over), and every time I told about the muffin situation.
By Friday Mom and Dad were here...not sure how we made it through the week, the great Mother's Day weekend helped us to survive, but that post will have to come one day this week as it is 11:22 right now, my list is huge, and the week isn't as invasive as lasts...but is still pretty busy for us Relles.
Happy Mother's Day!!!
