Gold Digger Party Weekend

So in a desperate attempt to make back lost money this year we hosted a Gold Party at our house in May. We offered small treats and non alcoholic drinks....after all we were trying to make money-not spend it all on hosting.

Somehow we managed to get the house together in our exhausted state we've been in since August. Julie the gold lady came and set up her light, scale, and money (most important part) and then the party began.
Each guest (and those that dropped off bags with me to get quotes, a text with the bid offered, and then money delivered by me) had a turn at the table while Debbie determined real vs. fake gold and silver. She did her calculations and you'd walk away with cash on hand and your stones if you had any. Mychel here left with $700! We made out pretty good (so did Bebe and Noel that had some items to sell). After the day we were feeling pretty good about getting Jack a swing set with the combined money from selling his Little Tikes and the gold money....but I'll jump ahead a little since I'm so behind...after Nick's wreck...no swing in sight for Mr. Jack. Sorry buddy, we tried!

Jack and Willow had fun as you can see while the adults were making money in the other room.

The next morning with money in our pockets we decided to get outdoors some before it gets too miserably hot to visit the Arboretum since we have our membership til October (unsure of renewing this year-we'll see how our lucky pans out between now and then). Picnic lunch soon after we got there.

"Ham" was on the menu as you can tell!

So was my Route 44 water with lemon from Sonic. Keep thinking it will help with my splotchy, puffy face...but nope!

Jack was the tour guide making sure to read the background information for the new Texas Town display.

"Who's there?"

"Dad, this is such a pain...why don't they just have sinks like us?"

"I'm thinking since I'm a big boy now that I might be needing a wagon upgrade."

Johanna's Birthday Party!

While back (yep, just now having a little time to do some catching up) Jack was invited to his friend Johanna's birthday party at Kreative Parties in Plano. Wow, it was the party to be at for sure. The theme was Princess and Pirates but all we had to do was show up!

The kids had time to get dressed up, get their face painted, and to play of course.
The lunch/cake was set up in another room so I snuck out to snap some pictures because it was AMAZING!

Pretty sure this beautiful cake was better than our wedding cake. IMPRESSIVE!

Misc. April

Here is a random collection to finish off April and get us caught up with the Relle Clan's adventures...

Jack is nothing but a ball of energy. He is constantly climbing, running, climbing. His poor little legs are proof of this with all the scratches and bruises. Here he is after begging the whole after dinner walk to climb a tree...Nick was right behind him and due to the scratch on his knee this won't be happening again anytime soon if I have anything to do with it.


Yearly tradition of bluebonnets pictures was spontaneous after swim lessons this year. The calendar was stuffed, the weather was looking bad and expected to get worse, so we took advantage of being out and close to the field....so forgive that there are only 2 without all the electric wires and buildings and his outfit isn't my first choice...but he is perfect none the less.

Look back at April/May from the previous years and be amazed at how much my little baby has grown up. :)

Jack started taking swim lessons with Mrs. Paige on Friday afternoons. He has gone to 3 classes so far and has been doing great.

He trusts her, loves the water, and is so good at being patient while waiting for his turn to work with her (class size is 4).

Herren-Relle Keys Wedding

Mom and Dad came into town on a Thursday so that Nick and I could fly out at 5:45 AM to Nick's brother's wedding in the Keys. The time of the flight is just one of the MANY complaints I have on the commute to Key West.

Jack had his first experience with Ready Whip for dessert on Thursday night...
Let's just say at that moment I knew there would be NO missing Nick and I over the weekend.

Made it there...FINALLY despite the lack of sleep, early departure time, 3 plane changes, and the smallest puddle jumper I've ever been on (there wasn't even a curtain separating the captain from the 10 of us on board-no steward to count and no potty either). There was enough time for us to visit with Paul and Kerri in the square and catch a nap before the beautiful water side rehearsal dinner that night.

Saturday was a wonderful day of sleeping in, laying/swimming by the pool at the condo, and of course celebrating the marriage of Eric and Brittany!

Congrats Eric and Brittany! And thanks Mom and Dad for taking care of Jack, cleaning the house, putting up Jack's swing, and stocking the freezer...we're so lucky to have supportive family willing to come so far to show their love to us!
