Two weekends ago we spontaneously headed to The Big Orange Pumpkin Patch in Celina, TX (close to McKinney) to meet the McWilliam's and Karen's parents for an afternoon of pumpkins, petting zoo animals, hay rides, and hot dogs. It was a bit warm but with October being so busy with camping, football, and other Fall Festivals it was the best weekend because we were practically the only people there....pretty sure the rest of the month that huge parking lot will be packed non-stop. Thanks for the ideas and letting us join you McWilliams!

The Big Orange Pumpkin Patch, Celina, TX

Jack was VERY unsure of feeding the goats, sheep, long horns, and chickens/roosters at the farm.

The
Relle Clan

Trying to pick out the perfect pumpkin.

There were so many to pick from....the only ones that were actually attached to the vines were still small and green but there were plenty scattered around in all shapes and sizes to pick from.

Jack finally decided to be brave and feed the donkey.

He was pretty hungry and they were working well together...

til he licked Jack's finger.

so then he moved on to something a bit more
manageable....a baby goat.

There is Jack's perfect pumpkin that he picked out (there was a super cute pictures I'll try to put up earlier of him with his pumpkin once he picked it out...didn't upload for some reason). Time for a hay ride!

Jack and Olivia loved standing on the hay and looking at everything we passed along the way. I think I even heard them discussing the possibility of them getting married here one day at the little chapel across the lake.

Yep, I think it is at the top of their venue list.

But the conversation soon changed when they saw the character hay bails.

The pig was a bit more friendly in their opinion.

But I think we all preferred the spider over the old farmer who went out looking for his farm help that never returned one day.....and here is where he ended up..not sure if that is the most family friendly story to have along the hayride....and pretty sure when we passed hay bails on the way to the cabin Jack pointed and said, "Look Mom and Dad....the man still in the hay?"
Perfect day at the farm.

And for a tractor ride.

Unsure about the tram ride. I was worried I was going to be stunk in there forever....I had to turn to get in (and pregnant Karen just slid right in). Nick sat out and it was probably a good choice because the 2 by 4 (not in a comfy bench direction) was not so fun on the bumpy ride...don't think Nick's healing tailbone would have enjoyed it.

But fun and worth the struggles.

What a group huh?!?

Getting ready to head home...one last visit with the goats.

Showing off their pumpkins in the parking lot (Jack got his perfect pumpkin and two mini pumpkins with beautiful, curly vines attached).

What a great day and our
souvenirs were a perfect addition to the Halloween decorations from Papa.
