LSU vs. Auburn

A Friday about a year ago, not really but feels like it, we headed out after school on a Thursday to drive to Baton Rouge to see the Tigers play. Jack was a trooper on the drive, Nick covered the first half, and I finished the drive out (with the help of...oh I can't even name all that I consumed to keep awake and pass the time), but we made good time.

Friday morning Nina came over to see her Little, Little Buddy Jack. He drove right into the toys at Papa and Bebe's like no time had passed at all.
While waiting for Nana, Gramps, and Blake to come play Jack helped Bebe make some bread for the tailgate. He loved wearing Papa's shirt with a rubber band in the back to help it fit. And how cute is that little bread pan?!? His favorite part was eating it whole loaf in hand after it was done!
Jack had so much fun getting pushed by Uncle Blake on the swing and having Nana tell Blake not to touch his feet....he thought it was too funny.
Uncle Eric joined us for a tasty lunch (I didn't dive into the good Louisiana food yet....still recouping from my bad choices on the drive in).
Jack just loves his Nana!
And Gramps for buying him his "Ta doo Ta doo" horn from the LSU store next to Mike the Tiger's cage. He walked all over the store hooting in it....I'm surprised they didn't just give it to him to get him out of the store making that noise. Later that day it broke on the carpet, got taped together, and accidentally was left in Baton Rouge (no worries...I'll get it this weekend when I am in town....just didn't want to listen to it in the car for 7 hours on the ride home).
We were so glad that it worked out that Nana, Gramps, and Blake were able to come and spend the day with Jack rather than just a quick lunch before we made the drive home on Sunday. Can't wait til Christmas when we get to spend time together again!
Friday night in prep for the tailgate with Papa's boss from Canada Jack helped me carve a pumpkin with the Canadian Maple Leaf on it. He was much better this year about being brave enough to stick his hand in the pumpkin and pull out seeds but had more fun using a pasta scooper to bring them one at a time to the garbage can. A few times he tried to eat them....maybe next year we'll bake some...for this year, I snapped a picture because I knew with our upcoming schedule carving a pumpkin wasn't at the top of our list...so this counts for our Halloween Pumpkin Carving for 2009-A!

Saturday finally came and after a bit of a car seat mix up we were parked and on our way to the Anything Geaux's tailgate. Jack was offered $40 for his "Super Tiger Fan" Cape from Aunt Mary Beth...Nick said, "Yes", Jack said, "Hell No! That is mine. Get your own."
What we have been waiting for since last year...LSU Football, Food, Family, Friends, and did I say Food, oh and LSU Football. :)
Lil Tiger Boy
Lil Tiger Girl
Chillin' on the couch with Aunt Mary Beth.
For sure the only tailgate that has a Tens Unit on tap, the need to use it, and following through with using it.
Papa's image of heaven

and perspectives.
Trio of Trouble.
Jack was struggling to hang with the Big Tigers and you could tell by him even attempting to lay down with Nick on the blow up couch with all the excitement around. But napping was just to hard and required...
Lots of coats piled in his own loan LSU wagon and a few rounds in the parking lot. I'm telling you...by the time I got to Nick there were people stopping him for pictures (mainly pretty girls....) we could have rented Jack out to single guys by the minute. Getting him over the curb to the tailgate required 4 guys and Nick....and there he managed to sleep with all the action around him for a LONG time.
Meanwhile the rest of us visited, drank, and ate on the tasty jambalaya that Jimmy and Clint catered for the Anything Geauxs tailgate.

It was getting close to time for those with tickets to head to the stadium so Nick and I made the decision to wake the Sleeping Tiger....he wasn't quite ready to get up.
"Dad, let me go back to sleep. I feel like Mommy in college the day after a LSU game."
The weather was perfect and visiting with friends and family that we haven't seen in a long time made it even better.
Little Tiger still wasn't ready....Gab wasn't quite up for keg stands either.
A birthday celebration....you know to add to the fires, baby showers, and weddings-the Anything Geauxs Crew isn't your typical tailgate group....they can plan your next Bar Mitzvah if you need. Happy Birthday Mary!
Gabriella says, "No use crying over spilled jambalaya." After tasting it though she might say otherwise....it was so GOOD.
The Anties
Good friends
"Are you my Dad?" Not really....just seemed fitting. :)
We must get together more often.
Jack just LOVES playing with Johnson....Johnson enjoys his Jack time too...It's all fun and games til....
someone gets muddy! No worries....Mom had a spare outfit. Plus we were about to head into the game so it was Aunt Betsy and Bebe's responsibility to tend to Muddy Tiger.
A grandparents (and great grandparents) dream come true. Sunday morning pancake breakfast with family (and most importantly...grandkids).
Nick couldn't leave town without a little chore....like climbing in his worst nightmare....the attic. Sorry Nick....too many people saw heaven and their dreams come true this weekend...maybe next trip will be yours...oh wait, you saw the Tigers play....even.
What a great trip. Jack can't wait til the lady doesn't run out of tickets so he can go walk like the rest of us to "see the Tigers."
