Happy Birthday Lisa (Does this count as a 3rd Playdate?)

While we were eating dinner tonight the Tavares's called to see if we wanted to join them to sing Happy Birthday to Lisa and help them eat her cake. Us Relle's never turn down cake so we cleaned up from dinner and headed over.

The cake tasted even better than it looked...and it sure looked pretty.
Here is Lisa blowing out her candles with the help of Ethan and Patrick. Jonah wasn't too much help...but he sure is cute!!!
Yummy...Thanks for having us over. Hope you had a great birthday Lisa!

Jack is asleep (hopefully for the night after such a busy day), Nick and I have packed, so it's off to bed we go because 5:30 in the morning is going to be here all too soon.

Two Playdates In One Day

When Jack woke up from his nap after the baseball game with Dad he was so surprised to see that Ashley and Nathan were already there for his afternoon playdate. We haven't spent time with them in forever so even though we are leaving early in the morning for a spontaneous family get away, we made sure to fit them in.

Let me just preface by saying that these pictures are not staged, sober and responsible adult supervison was provided the whole playdate, and no children were injured during the playdate (just startled).

"Nathan I promise this is safe...my nickname is Tiger Woods Jack Relle. Now tuck your head so your more like a ball and take a deep breath."
"OK...so Nathan Golf wasn't the best idea...let me show you how to push my new shopping cart from Papa...now move over!"
"That was moving over a bit more than I had in mind...you OK buddy....get up and brush it off...that is what I do."
"Dad get the camera ready...I have the club and Nathan's on the shopping cart...I bet there is a blog worthy picture in the near future." Nathan isn't having a good afternoon...If you look closely at the bottom, right side of the cart you can see poor Nathan's little hand. I hope he isn't scared for life of shopping carts.
I was there to rescue and don't worry little Nate wasn't hurt...just a bit scared...the crying only lasted seconds.
" Now Mom and Aunt Jennifer....I'm pretty sure I have been trampled twice by this shopping cart...is your photo op of Jack pushing me in the cart worth my life?"
"I know I am young but I just don't have a good feeling about this and think I should go ahead and get out now."
"Gosh this cart sure is high...maybe if I put all my weight on the handles it will gracefully fall over and I can walk out...yea right...Jack, put down your club and HELP!"

Had fun guys...hope it wasn't too much at Nathan's expense. Can't wait to get together a few more times before school starts.

Daddy's on a Playdate

Yep, you read the title right...Nick and Jack went on a playdate today with Rob and Luke to see the Rough Riders play. I didn't know what to do with my time alone....most things require money so I decided to hang back, take my time showering and drying my hair, do my nails, and a few other things around the house....it was nice but I missed my boy (oh I mean boys).

As if the Daddy playdate wasn't enough...they wore matching Italia Jerseys from Nick and I's Summer in Europe. Our little boy we brought back is finally big enough to wear the shirt we brought back for him.
Check out Jack's new shoes because he won't be wearing them again. We bought them on sale awhile back and they were too big. Pull them out now and they are either too small, or he just doesn't like the way he feels. He would walk a bit, pull them off, then want them back. By the 4th time...we were done with them. Maybe we'll try another day.
Here are Nick and Jack at the game. They had lawn tickets which included a hat and hot dog (for Nick)-Jack had a packed lunch compliments of Mom.
Here is Luke and his Dad -Rob...looks like they had a packed lunch too. Thanks for including the boys on your outing! Can't wait for you to do it again...next time I think I'll go see a chick flick at the movies...maybe Tina can join me on a playdate by ourselves.

The weather was really hot so afterward they headed to the food court to cool off and snack some more, did a little walking, and then it was time to head home for a much needed nap.

Celebrate Good Times...

This morning we woke Jack up at 7 (that is right...we woke him up....Jack takes after Nick and I....The Relle Clan doesn't do mornings) so that he could eat and go back down for a nap before heading to Celebration Park here in Allen with the McWilliams.

The Relle Clan
The McWilliams Clan
Don't let the first pictures deceive you...before we could head to the splash area we geared up and had a morning snack. Good thing we got there early because we were able to get a spot under the last of 3 tiny "trees" at the park.
Jack and Nick in the splash area.
As usual Jack wasn't too interested in it (next Summer I think he will be prime). He has more fun exploring...Here he is pointing to a bunch of birds on the grass by our blanket.
Since water wasn't his thing we decided to try out the play area. This was fun but nothing lasts more than a few seconds with Jack before he is off to find something else to do.
Olivia rode on a duck with her Mom.
Poor Aaron riding his horse solo.
The Dads did a little teeter tottering with the kids...again...very short lived.

I was on my way back from the restroom and saw Jack running up a hill for me. I open my arms all excited that he missed me and chose me over Nick...well I quickly found out he was really in route to the Magician at the party in the pavilion. Oh well...warm and fuzzy thoughts while they lasted.
What is a trip the park without a ride on the swing?
Jack swinging solo...he was so kind to let his shorts cool off the swing so Olivia could have a turn next. Those things were hot...Who makes a park with no trees or cover close by?
The kids weren't into things and we were exhausted and hot from chasing them around so it was time for another snack of (Pedilyte) Popsicles. Yummy!
Here is Jack begging for hand outs of Teddy Grahams from Karen and Aaron. Just look at this picture...where did my baby go? This is a picture of a big boy!!
