We are trying to stay strong and let Jack cry it out a little at night. Because of this and he ability to roll he screams, cries, and flings around trying to get us to give in and come get him. Last night he started crying after falling asleep so I went in to check on him. He was towards the end of the bed on his belly and I put Wub Nub in hoping it would keep him content...but also thinking...Wub Nub's stuffed animal is close to his nose and he is on his belly...but that is what our Angel Care Monitor is for right?!? The monitor sounds an alarm if Jack hasn't taken a breath/moved in 15 seconds. All the sudden a little while later the alarm sounded (which it hasn't done since he was 2 weeks old and we were getting the sensitivity levels set). Nick and I both jumped out of bed and I bolted down the hall. When it came time to make the turn to go to the nursery something happened (it is all a blur) and I slid down the hall, ramming my shoulder into the ground with all my weight, and crashing (I mean CRASHING) into the laundry room door. It was bad enough that Nick said he was positive with the way my neck snapped that I was paralyzed. Rolling over in PAIN as he tried to check on me I told him to get to Jack and that I would be OK. For sure just like a scene out of a movie.
Jack was alright...not sure if it was Wub Nub, him moving too far from the motion pad, or just a fluke. Then for the rest of the night Nick had to tend to me. We weren't sure if my shoulder was out of socket, if I had a really bad concussion (I was pretty nauseous), or what exactly the damage was. Due to insurance starting over on September 1st (OF COURSE!) and my lack of employment, we decided to wait and go to the doctor today if it was still bad. Nick had to stay home from work because I can't lift Jack, get on the floor (because I can't get up), and we didn't go to sleep til 4:30 in the morning.
Dr. Wright sent me to Richardson Regional Medical Center to have an x-ray...that will be a nice outpatient hospital visit to start us off with here in the 1st week of the new insurance. She was worried that I might have torn a roto cuff or something like that. The results came back normal and so if in a week it still hurts she wants me to have an MRI. Until then it is lay low (except for Gymboree somehow tomorrow), ice packs, and pain pills.
The worst carpet burn I have ever had!
The hospital bracelet that probably cost $40
This priceless little boy that I am so thankful that despite the pain I am in...was alright!

Oh the joys of parenthood. Glad you are all okay. I have the same mark on my knee from my Katrina fall and we will have matching scars. What is it with all of these falls?
