Fun in the Sun

Today Jack and I hosted a Fun in the Sun playdate in the backyard. We had the sand/water table, a baby pool, Lisa brought over their ball sprinkler, and we had snacks....even kid friendly Popsicles complements of Mama Relle. The day was perfect, everyone had fun, and we can't wait to do it again soon!!

Ethan was the first one to arrive and Jack was still asleep so he got the water wonderland to himself for awhile.
Once Jack woke up I put on his suit, lubed him up with sunscreen, and we headed outside to join Ethan. Here he is showing Jack what he has created so far.
After awhile at the water/sand table the ventured over the the pool. Ethan was already used to it so he waiting patiently while Jack got used to the idea of a bathtub outside.
This is about as close to the sprinkler that Jack would go. He just stood there while it sprinkled on his back unsure of what to do.
Nathan joined the boys a little later and the three of them had a blast in the pool...Can't remember if Jack was sharing the flower pots from the table or not...probably not!
Nathan didn't mind being stationary in the pool because it meant he got to lounge with the pool to himself.
Lunchtime came and at first we thought the little table would work out well (it was donated by Joey and we couldn't fit the chairs in the car...Mom and Dad bring them when you come)...
Until Jack wanted Ethan's lunch and kept sticking his hand in his cup of water. Not long after Jack dumped his whole plate on the ground (cheerios, meat, and cheese is fun to pick out the grass to avoid ants all while having to kept a close eye on Jack)...chairs and booster seat with strap is what we will try next time.
Who needs to rest for 30 minutes after eating...Jack headed back to the pool. I swear I heard him mumble under his breath that he hoped Nathan and Ethan didn't pee in his pool...just kidding!
Back to the table they went for one more round of building sandcastles, making the boats swim, and...

drinking out of the flower pots...at least it isn't just my kid!
After fun in the sun it was time to cool off with an afternoon Popsicle.
So cool and refreshing!
Even Jonah got one!!
Olivia and Karen showed up at snack time and since the kids had been out in the sun for awhile we decided to move the fun inside where there was shade and air conditioning.

Jack went down at 2 and didn't wake up til 4:30!!! Out of everyone he was the biggest challenge because he kept migrating towards the patio which is dangerous...we'll have to work on some form of blockaide for it. The sun was good for all of us and of course we loved the company. We are for sure doing this again!
