Wonderful Weekend-Just Not Long Enough

Friday was not so good for me...my first official break down late that night while working in my room (can't believe it took that long). I did get to see Jack for a bit when he came up to school but I didn't get home from work til after 10:15 and had to wake up early Saturday to see the Gastro Doctor. Had a nice Saturday having lunch, visiting the Vaughans, resting, and then grilling out with Angela (Jack's best friend for the day). The McWilliams called to see if we were up for a Sunday morning trip to the Dallas Zoo since the weather has been nice in the mornings...of course we said yes...the Relle Clan is always up for an outing.

So at 8:30 Sunday morning we loaded the Relles and the McWilliams into the Pathfinder and headed Downtown.

Jack and Olivia probably would have been happy just hanging out in the parking lot.
The Relle Clan
Taking one for the team-all in the name of the children-anything to get my boy to let me hold him...Worth every bit of the bird flu I probably contracted. Here we are feeding the bird from the seed stick. Jack wasn't too sure about this event.
Neither was Olivia.
Boys, Babies, and Birds.
Jack and Nick feeding the birds.
Jack is telling Olivia to watch out. This bird had vulture in it's name and nibbled pretty hard on Karen. Our little man protecting his little lady...how cute!
Jack decided that this exhibit was for the birds...climbing on the rocks was more fun while he waited for Olivia to finish up her bird adventures.
"Here piggy, piggy!"
And again...this exhibit is not nearly as fun as the rocks beside it.
Jack wasn't too much into the bunnies (guess he sees enough in the backyard) and he for sure wasn't into petting the guinea pig...guess he has seen the scar I have from Harley and wasn't going to risk loosing a finger. Oh well..maybe next time...just think of the germs he avoided.
Our little cowboy had his first pony ride. He didn't smile or squeal but did really good for having to walk away from us, with strangers, on a pony.
"Wait Olivia, I'm supposed to be riding off into the sunset with you...Wait up!!!"
After the children's zoo we decided to speed up the process by gearing up with the babies on back to check out the other animals.
After such a busy morning we had all worked up a HUGE appetite.
One last exhibit before heading back to the country was to check out Stingray Bay. The kids got to pet real sting rays!
Jack was a bit unsure but did enjoy watching them. No worries...they had been de-stingered. The music and all made me feel like we were in the Caymans...OK...back to reality.
But really we could have saved the Stingray money and just let the kids play in the dirt because they had way more fun doing that than petting the sting rays.
Here we are before heading to the car. What a great day at the Dallas Zoo...What are we doing next weekend? (I look like I have something shoved up my @## and Jack looks unhappy as can be...it really was a great day...I promise)
Just for laughs. Karen sat in-between the kids and did crazy songs while feeding them to keep them up on the drive home. Didn't want a cat nap to mess up a good, long afternoon nap we earned from wearing them out at the Zoo.
