Congrats Jack (& Mommy)!

Last week was for sure the second most difficult of the year (first being when Jack started Daycare). The demands at school were beyond what should be expected given the time, pay, conditions (no window or cell reception this day in age...unacceptable). I was at work til after 9 every night working non-stop to get it all done due to responsibilities before school, during my lunch, and during my planning period...all while planning Jack's end of the year party on Friday since I was the Room Mom this last semester...And if I don't say so myself-all the hard work and taking the morning off to be there (making up for Muffins with Mom & Beyond) was TOTALLY WORTH IT to see my little man and his friends having fun (and the smile on his teachers face for the festivities and their gifts).

You know me-nothing simple. Each child got a goodie bag with a CD full of fabulous Toddler Tunes labeled all cute, a Gymbo color sheet, stickers, PlayDoh, and a Toddler Yearbook I created with the help of the parents completing a simple form for me. The snack was Goldfish with juice. And the teachers got personalized stationary with gift cards to On the Border and for Manicures (per their favorites from the questionnaire that I gave them a few weeks ago). The Assistant Teachers got Thank You postcards and fancy chocolates for their help too. One Assistant Teacher in particular that Jack LOVES got a Starbucks gift card...she will be his Lead Teacher this Summer as his teacher is traveling.
Couldn't just wrap them any old way...matched the clip art and font to the yearbook cover.
I got there at snack time and help Mrs. Cristina pass it out...btw-It was school wide pajama day. Jack was SUPER confused on why I was there.
Then it was time to go to the community room for GYMBOREE. That is right....I kick Room Mom A$$. Mary Ellen was so sweet and in the middle of their move to the new location she came with Linda's (Jack's old teacher) sister Stacy. It was a fabulous time for the kids, a way for Jack to shine (and his Mom too), and hopefully gets Gymboree some more business (and Jack friends in his class) for this Summer at their new place...which I can't wait to see. It was so cute though because they were so shy at first (especially when asked to sit on the parachute...which they aren't normally allowed to do).
After a little Welcome and getting to know you...
Everyone got up to shake their maracas...
And catch some bubbles on their fingers and their noses...
this was a hit for them all...especially Ms. Rebecca...I'll have to get some for them to use this Summer when Jack is there a few days a week.
"This is AWESOME...Mom is here, Mary Ellen is here, Gymbo is here, and there are bubbles...this is the BEST DAY EVER!!"
It was finally time to ring Gymbo's bell and tell him Good-Bye...This was easier for the kids and Jack than saying good-bye to Mom for Jack...it broke my heart to hear him crying for me down the hall...but at the same time...I loved, loved him grabbing my leg during Gymboree and hearing that he didn't want me to leave him....I'm so glad we both survived this year....I didn't think we would...but we did. Thanks Gymboree for helping make this End of the Year Party such a success! They even gave goodies bags with stickers, color sheets, & free passes for classes..... :)
