This afternoon was Watters Open House. Students were assigned a time for them and their families to come in so that students could do presentations of what they have been doing thus far in school.
On the way we stopped and got flowers for Jack's teachers to let them know how much we appreciate them.

I'm not even going to lie...he looked absolutely precious in his little gray sweats and "emergency t-shirt" (fruit from lunch on uniform shirt) carrying those flowers down to his classroom.

Mrs. Dianet (Mrs. D) was very surprised by the flowers. Although he doesn't look happy here he LOVES her...he just wanted to go work but taking my picture took long because the memory card was full...go figure!

Here he is with Ms. Fabi the teacher's assistant. He ran to her and gave her a huge hug...jealousy from me :( but happy he loves them.

Jack showed us each activity on his lesson card one at a time. He would carry the tray ever so carefully from the shelf, gently set it down, then sat to begin his work.

This activity was falls under realia (real life) and was called spooning the beans. He was to transfer the beans from the right to the left using the spoon.

At one point he was frustrated/tired and tried to use his hands but Mrs. D was not far behind to encourage and help him get back into the lesson.

For this activity Jack was to transfer corn kernels from the metal cup into the plastic jar. The top was small so he had to do it one at a time and really concentrate on a steady placement of the corn.

Mrs. D said this is Jack's favorite. He carried the "puzzle" to the table, went back for the brown mat to put the pieces on, and showed us how it was done.

Pretty impressive!

It was big but he was able to get it all put away nicely. Afterwards he knew to get one of the activity sheets that we get weekly to let us know what he has been working on from the mini blue tray behind the activity, grabbed a pencil, and colored it while waiting for Mrs. D to write his name and date on it.
It was a nice evening to see all the hard work out little man does everyday.
