Dinner at the Parnells

Last night the Parnells had us Relles over for dinner. We were really looking forward to one last night in their house (it Sold so they are in the market for a new one), the boys being able to play, and to see Wayne since it had been 4 Months. Dinner was so tasty...thanks Ashley...I wish I had some to snack on for lunch today.
After dinner the boys got changed into their pj's and then we let them play a little before attempting to put them (well more Jack) to bed.
"See Jack....this is how we do it at my house."
"Mom Jack is pushing MY walker."
" I mean what is a boy to do...I didn't get any enchilada casserole...guess I'll settle for Nick's flip flop."
"And my shoe."
"Oh my goodness...do you see that boy eating shoes...get him some Cheerios...STAT!"
"Thanks for setting up the Pack and Play for me Aunt Ashley...I love you!"
"Wait a second...I thought ya'll were going to just keep making faces at us through the prison mesh...you aren't going to leave us in here are you?!?"

"I mean really...fun is over...let us out now Mom."
"Do I look entertained Mom? Get me out of here!"
"Poor Nathan...he is so naive...he thinks Mom is funny (not sure why) and he doesn't realize they are going to walk out of the room and leave us in this plaid prison."
"Ahhh....out....guess it was just for the photo opt...now I have my milk and in a minute we'll play some poker."
"I knew I could sweet talk Aunt Ashley into making them break me free, playing with me, and giving me more milk...I like this place. Tears work great!"

We didn't stay much later than this picture. Jack wouldn't go to sleep so we took him out and although he was playing nicely so we could have played a little poker...his mild diaper rash developed into a raging diaper rash and the poor boy couldn't walk. When we changed him he would cry if we touched his bum to wipe him...so we left, called Aunt Betsy for advice, headed to CVS for a bag full of supplies, mixed up some concoctions, and called it a night.

He is doing a little better today....but is still so uncomfortable. We're going to try a few more mixtures, pastes, lotions and if it doesn't work looks like we might be visiting Dr. Mathieus's tomorrow so our boy can get to feeling better.

Thanks for dinner Ashley, Wayne, and Nathan. Sorry we had to cut it short....it's so rare that Jack doesn't go with the flow...but we all have our days. Guess we'll have to do it again soon to make up for the lost time.

Dr. Mathieu gave me some samples of the Aveeno rash cream for Jonah. It has worked better than any other I have tried. Just to let you know.

We had so much fun too! Jack, I hope your cute little bottom feels better. Nathan misses playing with you!
