First Day at Watters

Here is Jack this morning ready for his first day at Watters Montessori School. He pretty much didn't sleep last night (which translates to us either) so we were running a little late, but his class was still in the common room so he didn't miss anything.

Check out his new backpack, lunchbox, shoes, and uniform...working on nap tags for his bags and a matching toddler pillowcase and blanket....if my boy has to be somewhere other than home I'm getting him the best of the best.
Poor thing -doesn't know where he is REALLY going.
It took his teacher a few tries to get him to line up with the class to walk to their room so she finally took his hand and let him lead the class with her. Here he is walking into his classroom for the first time.
Last picture I snapped from the door before heading out so he didn't see us leave.
We picked him up this afternoon and they said he did really well for his first day. Ate some of his lunch and even napped for 2 hours on a cot WITHOUT WUB! We have requested that they only give it to him if for some reason he is inconsolable...plan to try tonight to carry it over to the house...we'll see.

Us-Well I can't speak for Nick but I am unstable and that is even after being heavenly medicated on anti-depressants. Not only is my baby at daycare but his hair is HORRIBLE (I'm thinking equal to, if not worse, than my haircut on Friday, October the 13th when I was pregnant. If I could go back in time I would have put my foot down instead of giving into persuasion....now we have to wait who knows how long to get our precious baby Jack back-and no...I'm not going to stop talking/complaining/obsessing about it until his comb over is back). On top of that it is 800 degrees and my classroom is lacking a lot of furniture and is the only room without air in the school....HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY, JOY!

The rest of the week is going to be spent getting into a routine, staff developments, and setting up my room....blog entries will be few and far between because as you know...I only get a few hours a day with my little man and when you put in meals and bath...that is not a lot of time for picture worthy activities, nor do I want to let go of him long enough to take a picture.

Still hoping the Louisiana Lottery pulls through for us...there is always hope...I think. And to avoid futures like this for my children I am compiling a list of college degrees that I refuse to assist paying for....education being one of them.

He looked like he had so much fun. Soon he will have more friends to invite over to play outside in the Texan heat.
